NFT Oasis and guest curator Maya Futrell for Maya Contemporary are pleased to announce R E F L E C T I O N S a group exhibition of NFT art in its third iteration of Black History/Black Futures Month celebrations on the platform.
The exhibition features a compelling collection of work that highlights the myriad ways that Black and African Diasporan artists experience the many facets of life, thus holding space and giving visibility to an ongoing array of creators that are initiating change and founding the future on the blockchain.
As with many of the works presented, R E F L E C T I O N S considers and redefines themes of cultural identity, mysticism, femininity, power, and beauty, thus creating an interconnectedness between artists, technology and the chosen medium. Marked by vivid colors, texture, bold patterns and photography, inspiring representations of communities of color celebrates a Black existentialism, and provides an amplified meaning to the importance of seeing oneself acknowledged. These artworks provide a continued engagement with the leaders of a new school of innovators, combining concepts in the creation of important Black narratives and a heightened visibility for the evolution of Black culture and technology.
