Ancient Roman Saturnalia Festival History & Traditions

Educators in VR Holiday Storytelling

PAST EVENT

Join us to celebrate the History and Traditions of the Ancient Roman Saturnalia Festival, exploring the mythology, traditions and customs in a 1:1 scale reproduction of the Athens Agora Marketplace at night.

Join the world-builder, Lida, as she shares the history and traditions of the Saturnalia Festival to celebrate the god Saturn with public banquets, gift-giving, and a carnival party with gambling and merrymaking. Celebrated for hundreds of years, the modern version continues during the Christmas season.

Educators in VR members celebrating the holiday season with stories from around the globe. Our members have brought us stories from their international holiday traditions to share with each other. Join us as we travel through North America, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Italy, Greece, Africa, Australia, Russia, Asia, and more through story.
