Keynote Lorelle VanFossen presents "Landing in Style and Dignity" on the benefits of social VR on mental health and empowering women in immersive technology and business at the 2021 Inaugural Girls Virtual Reality Team Business Challenge .

Lorelle VanFossen is the founder & director of Educators in VR, building a community of more than 4,000 educators, students, researchers, trainers, and businesses integrating immersive technology into education. She leads a team of over 40 volunteers and team members hosting over 600 VR events annually. She is a long-time motivational keynote speaker, business consultant, and author, editor, and publisher of numerous books on web publishing and social media.

The Girls STEAM Institute's first Virtual Reality conference is geared to educate and encourage young girls 12-17 to become entrepreneurs and solve world problems. Twelve girls were chosen by representing diversity in geography, age, culture and were assigned to a team of 4 to develop a business with viable concepts to remedy Mental Health Issues.

July 30th, the Business Challenge comes to AltspaceVR. The rest of the schedule features:

  • Keynote speaker Dr. Angelina Dayton of Virtual World Society, a virtual reality scientific researcher, user experience designer, speaker, consultant & trainer, and founder of Students in VR.
  • Presentation & Awards will be handed out in the afternoon Friday after the Teams present their innovation in VR on mental health. Join us for the presentations and celebrations.
