Gamers Speak Out on Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying Team Project Educators in VR

Join professional esports expert, Sonya Haskins (Hasko), with a panel of esports enthusiasts and experts to discuss the impact of cyberbullying and harassment. There is an organic grassroots effort to bring etiquette standards of respect and response to the toxic environment often found in multi-player games and competitions. Join us to learn more and discuss this important topic.

Sonya Haskins is a consultant, VR events organizer, and founder of VR Community Builders, a non-profit organization that promotes positive, inclusive environments. Formerly a professional VR esports player, she was the first female player to qualify for the VR League North American Regional Championships in 2017. Sonya has authored 8 books and writes frequently about immersive reality for publications such as VR Fitness Insider, AR Post, and Gaming Trend.

This month is our Third Annual Cyberbullying Month series of events tackling critical issues including harassment, assault, interpersonal conflict, response and reporting, and understanding your rights and responsibilities.

The Educators in VR Cyberbullying Team Project meets regularly with open discussions, guest speakers, workshops, and special events to tackle the subject of harassment, bullying and offer tools to help you and the community respond in the real world, online, and in VR.

Expect these sessions to touch upon sensitive areas. Please remember, these are NOT therapy sessions but may serve as support, sharing, and resource access opportunities.

Educators in VR is dedicated to integrating VR, AR, and XR into education and business. We host over 600 VR free and paid events, classes, workshops, and conferences annually covering all aspects of education. Educators in VR started in AltspaceVR when educators came together to solve their common challenges, and has grown to over 2,500 members from around the world, and over a dozen Team Projects (special interest groups).
