Educators in VR
Minecraft has become an amazing tool for use in education. It allows us to leverage student expertise while meeting our learning outcomes. Minecraft is a sandbox environment, often thought of as 'digital LEGO' but the possibilities expand far beyond as students can employ design and engineering principles as they autmoate functions in the world. Here about (and see) some of the amazing projects Steve's students have completed in Minecraft.

Steve Isaacs has been teaching since 1992. In 1998 began teaching at William Annin where he developed an internationally recognized middle school game development program. Steve has been using Minecraft for seven years and was one of the original Minecraft Global Mentors. He has been with the program since the beginning when 5 educators around the world were selected to pilot the program.Steve is a pioneer in using VR and AR in the classroom. Steve is a champion for student choice and student voice, providing a choice based environment to help students find and nurture their passion for learning. Steve is an edtech influencer, community builder, and leader in game-based learning. Steve is actively involved in building the K12 to College Esports pipeline and co-founded the #EsportsEDU community. Steve was honored as the 2016 ISTE Outstanding Teacher and the PBS Digital Innovator representing the state of New Jersey.
