Altspace and other social VR platforms become increasingly popular. Especially during the corona pandemic, it is great that people can now come together virtually. Let's not bore each other with endless presentations but make use of the full potential of the platforms! We will show/Learn you how you can spark creativity, interaction and collaboration with free and easy tools that are at your disposal, based on examples and research.
MENTOR: Evelien Ydo
Evelien Ydo is a psychologist with a special interest in learning, communication and technology. Currently, she is finishing her masters in educational science and technology by doing research about assessment in VR training. She also worked on a project on training presentation skills and providing feedback in VR. Evelien is very passionate about empowering people through education and how technology can help do that. Extended bio:Evelien has a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She mainly specialized mostly in human factors, learning psychology and conversational skills. Her dissertation was about social regulation in teams in a working environment. Evelien is currently finishing her masters in educational science and technology by doing research about assessment in VR. Research is scarce on this topic so that is very challenging but exciting. She will be doing her final research at a startup company (serious VR) who creates training in VR. Next to this, she also worked on a project on training presentation skills and providing feedback in VR. Next to her research, she works for a company connected to the university where she coordinates everything around the learning and development of the employees of that company. She also designs and gives training about the basics of pedagogical skills and designing education.
