The XR Creators speaker series is a regular event held by the XR Creators Unite community, where community members and others interested in VR and AR gather to share information. This week's featured speaker is Todd Kleinhans.

Todd Kleinhans is a self-taught VR hobbyist. After buying an Oculus DK1, he was hooked and has almost all of the Oculus headsets. His main VR tool for projects is Unreal Engine. Todd is a full-time Senior Database Administrator and loves to get outdoors when not looking at a screen. He currently leads the Colorado Virtual and Augmented Reality Group and the Denver/Boulder Unreal Engine Group. He also has a side hustle at www.zoneofhope.com.

Mnemotechnics is the art and science of using memorization tools and techniques to create and store long-term memories. Now with the advent of affordable consumer VR devices, using VR to build mind palaces is a fascinating pursuit. Recalling memories strengthens them and can lead to highly resilient memories. We will look at: a brief history of memorization, a few books, and what is a mind palace. We will then look at a few projects, discuss the skills and software needed, and finally how we can build then wield mnemotechnics in VR today either for ourselves or others. Several links will be provided.
