Deep Dive: Research comparing Immersive VR to Desktop Content
Cognitive physchologist and game designer, Mina Johnson-Glenberg is researching accessments for VR in education and shares her insights with a deep academic dive into learning differences reported between VR and PC platforms.
Mina Johnson-Glenberg is a cognitive psychologist, game designer, STEM specialist, and research professor at Arizona State University and president of the award-winning learning technology company, Embodied Games, LLC. The Embodied Games lab has been at the forefront of creating "embodied" and kinetically-active games using sensors and motion capture technologies. Dr. Johnson-Glenberg will be speaking about accessing educational quality of VR modules with a newly developed Rubric Alpha Version. She presents nationally and internationally and has published in peer-reviewed journals on VR and STEM education. Her most recent work was on Frontiers in Robotics and AI.

Eric Hawkinson, Founder, ARientation
ARientation allows anyone to connect any digital contents to a set of special playing cards. Those playing cards can be printed out or purchased. Once you have some cards or images of the cards, you can use the ARientation app to see what contents, games, environments, and other projects others have created. You can also use this website to connect your own content to the cards. Once you do, you can then allow others to view your content. With this concept you can have cards play online videos, show websites, offer interactive web content, play audio, show images, or display almost any bit of information from the internet.
After 5 years of developing augmented reality educational materials, Eric Hawkinson, founder of ARientation, an augmented reality platform geared towards learning and engagement. The platform allows less technically inclined students and teachers to create and share AR enhanced content and environments.
