Rebekah Diaz, Chief Strategist, Dance Virtual
Rebekah Diaz is breaking new ground with their virtual studio classroom, using dance for self-improvement, confidence, and self-expression by teaching partner dance steps. She and her partner will explore their story of R&D of dance and mocap and how to take advantage of VR to create a tool to learn and practice partner dance. Partner dance has wealth of information confiming it betters one life and sense of culture through movement and music. As a well seasoned coach, she will guide people through the basics of a partner dance, warn them of the most common mistakes, and encourage them to go dance in the real world. Because of the nature of the VR platform, the user can see any angle they need at anytime through a movement or step. They progress through lessons and finish the lesson by dancing hand in hand with an avatar programmed to do the correct steps. Students can retake, rewatch, rewind, and pause the lesson as many times as they need. Diaz will share the technology of the neuron suits for full-body capture and how they developed their lessons and processes.
